January 16th I would like to give a belated “Thank You” to the residents of the Village who took the time and trouble to clear the drains near Bulbaiters Lane 2 weeks ago. This has always been a problem area with flooding and despite the many attempts over the years by the council nothing has resolved the situation. Despite the heavy rain we have experienced recently, this area has now been kept clear due to their initiative. The residents are very grateful and thank you. THE DINERS GROUP Meet Wednesday 22nd January at 7.45pm in The Minstrels Gallery for a Burns Night Meal. This is open to all. Just e-mail Pauline Richards for the menu and choices before Sunday 19th January. W.IOn Saturday 25th January there is a Theatre Outing to Sonning with Lunch followed by a Matinee performance. HYDE HEATH THEATRE COMPANY are presenting ‘ALLO ‘ALLO on 30th/31st. January at 7.45pm and 1st February . Matinee 2.30pm and 7.45pm evening Tickets £10. to join the Team.. This service is so important for our senior residents
who have no other means of transport to get out of the Village. We will be

We will be marking the 50th birthday on 9th January with appropriate drinks and nibbles . A Celebration Dinner is to be arranged for Thursday 10th April . It is a year of Celebration also for the HYDE HEATH VILLAGE HALL , which will be 90yrs old this year. It will be 90yrs since the Village Hall was moved from Halton. The building was generously funded by The Village W.I and was moved using Franklin’s horse and cart. The former army hut is therefore well over 90yrs old. The Festivities are over for another year and it is time to look forward to this next one with renewed optimism and a promise to keep all those New Year Resolutions. We will kick off the New Year with a New Project and Challenge . LITTLE MISSENDEN CHURCH is the proud possessor of a set of handbells which need dusting off from their mothballs , restored and put to use again. A group to meet up and practise
tunes once or twice a month, no previous experience or musical knowledge
required. Gareth Malone started a Choir in the Workplace. We need a
Handbell Choir in the Community. Please contact her on :01494-783978 . email: Ruth.groves@tiscali .co.uk Thursday 9th January is the W.I ‘s first meeting of the year. Commencing at 8pm in The Hall. Please come and join this very friendly group of ladies who do occasionally “ go off piste” THE ELGIVA THEATRE have installed new digital cinema equipment. They will now be showing current productions live from The West End. Check the “What’s On” programme for information on what is coming up during the next 3 months. THE SHOPPING BUS TO CHESHAM every Friday will be requiring a new driver in April.. This service is so important to the Senior residents of our Village who do not have the transportation to get out of the Village to the main Supermarkets. 2hrs once a month is all that is required.
